Script Timings

Script Timings are available as an additional service. I have been doing timings my entire career and do my best to provide productions with the closest possible estimate of the film or episode’s running time. I am considered to be an expert in them and with a little knowledge from you can provide very accurate information.

What Is A Script Timing?

A script timing provides an estimated run time for the film scene by scene, based on the shooting script, or usually starting with earlier drafts to have an idea of whether you need to cut material (its expensive to shoot things that might not make a final cut!). I can provide a good idea of if a film will run long or might come in short based on some info from you, a script, and many years of experience.

What’s it cost?

A script timing is more of an art than a strict science. Perhaps more-so than other parts of a Script Supervisor’s job. You can contact me for more information on the cost, but in general it’s going to cost you at least an 8 hour day. For smaller productions we may be able to agree upon something.

Why should I hire you to do my timing? I wrote/am directing/am producing it, I know how long it’s gonna be!

And I’m sure you have a great idea of how long you’d like it to run. I can tell you if you might be off. Even the greatest around use professional script timings as guidelines. It’s not a page per minute world anymore.
